A Weekend by the Sea

Come for the wedding, stay for the weekend. Three days along the Lisbon coast — a rooftop welcome, a wedding on the fort, and a long, lazy Sunday by the water. Here's how it unfolds.

For 400 years it has watched the Atlantic. Today, the Atlantic watches back.

We'll marry on the open terrace as the sea catches the late-afternoon light, then move inside for dinner and dancing.

Dress · Fabulously You

Day Three · Sunday, 2 August

A relaxed, sit-down afternoon at the beach club — long tables by the water, with swimming for anyone who wants it. Come as you are.

Getting Around

Finding Your Way

01

Fly into Lisbon

Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) is the gateway — about 20–30 minutes from the city and the coast by taxi or transfer.

02

One weekend, three corners

The weekend spans greater Lisbon — central Lisbon on Friday, the Estoril coast on Saturday, and Costa da Caparica on Sunday. Plan your hops with a little room to spare.

03

Getting around

We recommend Bolt — the fastest, simplest way around the city. (This is not a paid endorsement.)

Practical Notes

Visa & Tips

Visa

Portugal is in the Schengen Area. Many passports — including the US, UK and GCC — enter visa-free for up to 90 days. Check your nationality's rules, and that your passport is valid for at least three months beyond your trip.

ETIAS & entry

Good news: ETIAS is not required for August 2026 — it begins later, with an official EU app at launch. For the latest, see travel-europe.europa.eu/etias. At the border, the new EES takes a quick photo and fingerprints from first-time visitors — allow a little extra time.

Money

The currency is the Euro (€). Cards are accepted almost everywhere; keep a little cash for small cafés and taxis.

Weather

Early August is gloriously warm — around 28°C / 82°F by day, with cooler sea breezes at night. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a light layer.

Language

Portuguese is the local language, but English is widely spoken across Lisbon, Estoril and Cascais.

Power

Plugs are Type C/F at 230V. Bring a European adapter for your phones and chargers.

Getting online

An eSIM is the easiest way to stay connected the moment you land.

Tap water

The tap water is clean and safe to drink right across the region.
